• Visual Inspection:

  This visit includes a visual inspection and report. It takes about one hour and we will need access to all areas of the home. This inspection benefits homeowners that may want to learn more about how their house works as a system, what tests might benefit them the most and what work should be prioritized. While a scope of work can be generated from this audit, it is hard to determine just how much the homeowner may benefit from the proposed work.

  COST: FREE

• Blower Door and/or Duct Blaster Inspection:

  This visit includes the same visual inspection as listed above and a Blower Door and/or Duct Blaster test. This inspection takes between 1.5 and 2 hours and we will need access to all areas of the home. If vent registers are covered by furniture it will need to be moved for the testing. This inspection benefits homeowners who are having comfort issues associated with drafts, temperature differences between rooms, indoor air quality concerns and/or high energy bills. It is followed by a comprehensive report detailing the test results, what they mean and what work is recommended to improve your home.

  COST:

  • Blower Door Test, Visual Inspection and Follow-up report: $100.00
  • Blower Door Test, Duct Blaster Test, Visual Inspection and Follow-up report: $150.00
  • * The Energy Trust of Oregon offers a $35 incentive for Blower Door Testing and a $35 incentive for Duct Blaster Testing. Balanced Energy Solutions will assist with and turn-in all paperwork during the test. If you choose to use Balanced Energy Solutions as your contractor to provide weatherization upgrades you will receive 50% off.

• Home Performance With Energy Star Inspection:

  This visit includes the two audits listed above plus combustion safety testing, infrared camera diagnostics, mechanical system efficiency testing and a building durability analysis. The inspection takes about 4-5 hours and we will need access to all areas of the home. This inspection benefits homeowners that want to make significant improvements to the comfort and efficiency of their home and have a rough idea of payback periods on the investment. It is followed by a comprehensive report detailing the test results, what they mean, what work is recommended to improve your home and estimated payback periods on the associated measures.

  COST

  • $300.00 If you choose 2 or more measures to be completed from the recommendations made the initial visit is 50% off.

• Storm Water Management Audit:

  An inspection of your property will reveal how you can effectively and efficiently manage the stormwater runoff from your property. A detailed report outlines solutions for managing the storm water with onsite facilities that could include the installation of rain barrels, rain gardensand/or drainage trenches among other options.

  COST

  • The stormwater audit is included FREE through the end of the year with a Home Performance with Energy Star assessment.
